Surge Of Abandoned Dogs In Spain! Virtual Pets – Kitten

Don’t let this happen to your pet just because you were unprepared!

If you are a UK citizen and you have moved to another country for what ever reason don’t forget that if you ever need to return and you have since acquired animals, they will need to have their passports to be allowed entry or re-entry if your pets originally travelled with you.

It is a tragic fact that the global economic crisis has forced many expats into returning to the UK to find work and many have been caught out with their animals. Most people had no intention of returning to the UK and never thought it necessary to apply for animal passports and have only now found out that the process takes 7 months  before a valid pet passport is granted.

The process time of 7 months can spell disaster if you need to get back urgently to earn money, so please give it some thought now and get yourself prepared.  People who have not been prepared has inevitably led to pets being left at overcrowded animal rescue shelters, abandoned in the street or countryside and even left locked in abandoned homes or gardens without food or water. The former is bad enough but the latter is quite unforgivable! More information here regarding abandoned dogs.

If you are planning to move abroad or you are already living in another country, please remember to get your pet a passport straight away. Once you have it, all you need to do thereon is make sure your pets inoculations are kept up to date annually.

Here is a link that takes you to the UK Government site that gives you all the information you need regarding the UK rabies quarantine laws  http://www.defra.gov.uk/

Forewarned is Forearmed and will avoid certain heartbreak!
