Being overweight is not your fault but it is your problem and the goal of this site is to determine the best and safest ways of tackling a problem many of us face. So, the first thing we need to do is try to change the way we think._yo_yo

I would like to say is that I have struggled with my weight for some time, particularly since starting the menopause and I understand completely; all the emotions women go through when they have had their self-esteem battered.

Many overweight people feel that other people no longer listen to their opinions, fat people don’t have valid opinions apparently, because they are thought of as lazy and stupid, or at least, that’s the impression one gets. Then there is the feeling that you are no longer attractive which really hits at your ego, and as much as you would like to get your slim figure back, it has proved impossible.

You may have tried every fad diet under the sun and none has resulted in permanent weight loss. In fact, you probably noticed that any extra pounds you did lose came straight back on again, plus more. So the yoyo cycle goes on and on!

If you already realize that there is no such thing as magic formulas, diet pills or potions that will transform your body overnight, you probably also know that some effort will be needed on your part to achieve the results you want. There is a mass of information on all the different diet options and plans available, designed for you to lose weight and for it to stay off permanently, but you need to decide which is the best one for you. Its no good picking a program that will expect you to go to your local gym everyday for 1 hour, if you really cant face that kind of exercise regime to start off with. So be kind to yourself and find one that does not pressure you into going too fast too soon.

womanOf course, losing some weight is not only beneficial to your self-esteem it is also very beneficial to your health. Did you know for example that in the western world, we are suffering from an epidemic of obesity and there are now more fat people than thin ones, and it’s getting worse? In England alone for example, more than 30,000 deaths are attributed to obesity, I don’t yet have the figures for the USA yet, but I expect them to be staggering.

Let’s change the way we think and try to fight this addiction we have with food, and put a stop to this continuous yoyo of fat on, fat off. We dont need to resort to silly fad diets or expensive surgery, its all a waste of money and the fat will eventually pile back on.

Never give up because there is light at the end of the tunnel and by choosing the right options to suit you and with some determination on your part, you will succeed in your efforts to lose weight!
