<p>Article marketing is probably by far the best way to get targeted, ready-to-buy traffic to your website. Not everyone manages to achieve success with article marketing, so in this article we’re going to look at what separates the winning article marketing strategies from the ones that seem to flop. Here are four great tips that you can use, to make your articles work hard for you and be as profitable as you intended!</p>
<p><strong>Tip 1:</strong> Try to write your articles like sales letters. Now, you don’t want it to sound like a tacky commercial, but you do need to understand that your article is more than just information for your readers benefit.  The primary goal is to get your reader to click on your link, either in the article body or in your bio box.</p>
<p><strong>Tip 2</strong>: Write a neck turning headline that arouses curiosity and makes people clamber to read your article. In general, readers will find your articles via a search engine search and when the results come up they will just see a headline and a brief description, so you can see how important it is to have a call to action with a rubber necking headline and summary. Something that looks really juicy and interesting.</p>
<p><strong>Tip 3</strong>: Make your articles a minimum of 400 words long. If you want to publish your article on a lot of article directories then it needs to be at least 400 words long. A lot of directories will not bother to publish articles that are shorter.<br />
This makes sense because a directory makes money through attracting traffic. They want the readers to feel totally satisfied that they have found what they were looking for and have learned something by reading your article. It seems unlikely that an article less than 400 words would include sufficient worthyl content.</p>
<p><strong>Tip 4:</strong> When you publish an article in an ezine directory, there’s an author’s bio box at the foot of the article giving you the opportunity to sell yourself and place your link to your website. Try to make your bio box appear as though it’s part of your article.<br />
Don’t think of the bio box as an afterthought for your visitor because your bio box needs to fulfill the same function as that call to action on a sales letter. This is such an important issue; let’s have a closer look at what can be done to improve your chances.</p>
<p>This is what you don’t want (but what you usually see).</p>
<p>“Joe Bloggs is an animal lover who has spent years learning the ins and outs of the lives of Rabbits.”</p>
<p>Looked at from your reader’s point of view, they are only interested in themselves, not you. So, unless you’re the inventor of the Adkins Diet or someone with as much authority, who you are and what you’ve done is unimportant at this stage<br />
The primary objective at this stage is this. If you produced a really interesting article, your reader should be  thinking…”Hmm&#8230;I liked that…I wonder what else this person has to say.</p>
<p>You need this kind of response in order to get the click throughs. It’s what we call “pre-selling”! This is what article marketing is all about—pre-selling your reader so that they click through to your product page and then on your &#8220;buy now&#8221; button.</p>
<p>Another idea for your bio box would be to make the last sentence in the article to have a text link embedded in it. Something like this would be good.</p>

<p>(The underlined part is the text link to your website.) If your chosen article directory doesn’t allow text links then just include the whole address so that your reader can cut and paste it into their browser window.</p>
<p>There’s certainly much more to know and learn about article marketing but these four tips will help to get your technique into gear. So, apply these tips now and watch the traffic start rolling in!</p>
